Patentiere SPONSORSHIP FOR INJURED WILD ANIMALS

Again and again, wild animals in need of help are handed in to us: Malnourished or injured animals such as hedgehogs, rabbits, deer, falcons, swans or other wild animals - in Weidefeld they also get the help they need. After all, special expertise is required to care for wild animals. As soon as the animals are healthy, we release them back into the wild.

Wild animals that are not native to this country and cannot be released into the wild find a permanent home with us wherever possible.

Injured, malnourished or oil-smeared wild animals get the help they need at the Weidefeld Animal Welfare Center.

We are the only organization in Germany licensed to capture and treat seabirds affected by an oil spill. When cleaning the oil-smeared plumage or feeding the frightened birds with a probe, every move has to be right, otherwise you increase the suffering of the animals.

Malnourished or injured hedgehogs are expertly cared for at our hedgehog station. As soon as they are strong enough to survive the next winter outside, we release them back into the wild. If their fat reserves are not yet sufficient, they are allowed to spend the winter in their hedgehog house and then go their own way again next spring.

We have special aviaries for injured birds of prey, which are built in such a way that the birds' delicate feathers do not get tangled up in the wires.
